Zedrick Raymond has a story to tell the world and listening to his story brought tears to my eyes during the interview. Zedrick is a very quiet individual until he steps onto the gridiron suited up to take on his opponent. Rewind back to his days at Maitre Park where he played football and had to race another player after trying out for the team. When ask did he win the race, Zedrick “I Did.”

“Family is everything”, he says his Mom is his backbone. Zedrick attended Murphy High School where he played safety and defensive back. Zedrick wasn’t highly recruited coming out of high school, only getting offers from Grambling and Minnesota. Things didn’t go according to plan but Division 2 Delta State came calling, where he spent some time before getting a knee injury.

After that he stayed focused and got his body back into football conditioning and tried out for Last Chance U Independence Community College in Kansas. Raymond played two years under the coaching of Jason Brown recorded 27 tackles and six interceptions (fourth in the country his second year and helped lead Independence to a Conference Championship.

Then in 2018 the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks came calling to offer Raymond a D1 Scholarship. Raymond hasn’t looked back since and continues to strive and help the Redhawks when there third bowl game here in the Port City Mobile, AL in the Lendingtree Bowl.
